The focus is Composite, Matrix, and Advanced reports feeding core finance deliverables - income statements, budget-vs-actuals, and consolidated management packs. This is a delivery-focused engagement - you'll be building reports end-to-end, from data source selection through to validated, sign-off-ready output. Expect close day-to-day collaboration with finance stakeholders and the Workday configuration team. Core Responsibilities - Build custom reports using Workday's three main report types (Advanced, Matrix, and Composite) to match specific finance requirements - Build Composite reports - these are "master" reports that pull together several smaller reports into one combined output, with all the underlying configuration (columns, groupings, links between reports) needed to make that work - Set up reports so that one Composite report can automatically produce several different versions of a financial statement (e.g. by department or entity) without needing to build each one separately - Build Matrix reports - reports that group and summarise data into a grid/table format (like a pivot table), either as standalone reports or as building blocks within a Composite report - Build Advanced reports - Workday's standard flexible report type, using filters and sorting to control what data shows, either standalone or as building blocks within a Composite report - Create calculated fields - custom formulas that generate data not already available in Workday's standard reports - Choose the right underlying data source for each report and configure it in a way that keeps reports running quickly, even with large data volumes - Test and troubleshoot reports to catch errors or data issues before they go live - Set up reports to run and distribute automatically on a schedule (e.g. splitting one report into separate versions sent to different teams) - Set up permissions so each user only sees the data they're allowed to see - Write clear documentation explaining how each report was built, for stakeholders to review and approve
