This is a hands-on, technical ownership role from definition through tapeout and into first silicon, not a coordination role., Hands-on DFT Implementation * Micro-architect and implement DFT instrumentation logic, including scan insertion, compression, ATPG, memory BIST, boundary scan (IEEE 1149.x), IJTAG (IEEE 1687) infrastructure, and debug/observability features. * Integrate DFT IP into internally developed RTL, and evaluate and integrate DFT capabilities from third-party IP providers. * Work directly in RTL, synthesis, and DFT tool flows. Drive Pre-Silicon DFT Verification * Develop comprehensive DFT verification plans and validate DFT functionality through simulation and gate-level verification. * Drive stuck-at, transition, cell-aware, and power-aware ATPG strategies, ensuring DFx coverage targets are achieved before tapeout. Partner with Physical Design * Work closely with backend implementation teams to ensure successful physical realization of the DFT architecture. * Guide scan chain partitioning, compression planning, and test clock architecture. * Address power-aware test implementation, timing closure considerations, and test mode integration. Cross-Functional Execution * Partner closely with RTL design, design verification, physical design, package and test engineering, firmware, system software, and silicon validation to ensure DFT solutions are correct, compliant, complete, and consistent through silicon bring-up. AI-Enabled Engineering * Leverage modern AI tools to improve engineering productivity, including automated review of DFT reports, ATPG and coverage analysis, regression triage, documentation generation, workflow automation, and agentic engineering assistants. ## Related Videos - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [The Billion Dollar Machine: First Time Right.](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/393-the-billion-dollar-machine-first-time-right) - [Nest.js - TypeScript in the backend can also be clean](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1033-nest-js-typescript-in-the-backend-can-also-be-clean) - [More efficient software for more efficient microchips](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1164-more-efficient-software-for-more-efficient-microchips) - [Building the Right Product and Building It Right: A Glimpse into Extreme Programming, Atomic Design ](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/398-building-the-right-product-and-building-it-right-a-glimpse-into-extreme-programming-atomic-design) - [Meet Your New BFF: Backend to Frontend without the Duct Tape](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/682-meet-your-new-bff-backend-to-frontend-without-the-duct-tape) ## Related Articles - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [The 8 Best Code Testing Tools](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/402-the-8-best-code-testing-tools) - [Résumé-Driven Development: How IT trends affect the job market for software developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/59-resume-driven-development-how-it-trends-affect-the-job-market-for-software-developers) - [Dev Digest 134 - Where pixels sing?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/477-dev-digest-134-where-pixels-sing)
