Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this vacancy. * A minimum of 4 years of professional software, cloud, platform, or security engineering experience, including ownership of production systems delivering measurable reliability, performance, or security outcomes. * A minimum of 2 years of experience leading and developing engineers through people leadership and hands-on technical guidance, including coaching, architecture reviews, design decisions, and code reviews. * Deep experience securing cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including cloud-native services, architectures, and security controls. * Strong engineering proficiency with Python, Bash, Terraform, and cloud-native automation tools, with the ability to guide solution design, review code and infrastructure as code, and support the development of cloud security products. * Ability to translate security requirements and risks into scalable engineering solutions, reusable patterns, and automated controls. * Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering initiatives, manage cross-team dependencies, and deliver measurable outcomes. Desirable Skills: * Designing or operating security controls embedded into CI/CD pipelines, developer workflows, or shared cloud platform services. * Familiarity with containerized environments, including Kubernetes and Docker, and the security considerations associated with them. * Proven ability to influence technical decisions and drive adoption of secure patterns, standards, and reusable capabilities across product areas. * Demonstrated success mentoring senior engineers and developing emerging technical leaders to strengthen long-term team capability. * Understanding of security and operational measures, such as control adoption, reliability, and risk reduction, used to evaluate engineering outcomes and guide priorities., Cloud Platform, Cloud Security, Code Reviews, Mentorship, Product Security, Security Controls, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Technical Direction, Technical Leadership ## Description The Managing Engineer, Cloud Security Engineering is a hands-on engineering leader responsible for building and operating cloud security capabilities in production. This role combines people leadership, technical direction, and delivery ownership, including developing engineers, guiding architecture and design decisions, and ensuring the team delivers reliable, scalable, and effective security solutions.
