The Data Manager reviews contracts to determine documentation required for each phase of a project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. As part of comprehensive contract review and implementation, the Data Manager supports the following, * Scheduling and recording/reporting on status * Accountability and traceability of formal data transmittals and follow-up Customer dispositions (approval/disapproval) * Quality control and technical editing in accordance with established company formats and/or contractual requirements * Configuration identification and control * Storage/retrieval systems * Recognition and handling of proprietary and data rights * Incorporation of contractually prescribed markings for managing, sharing, safeguarding, and disseminating technical documents * Submittals in accordance with contractually required methods/tools. * Solid understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and industry best practices for Configuration Data Management (CDM) (e.g., EIA-649, EIA-859, MIL-STD-973, MIL-HDBK-61, MAP, etc.). This includes the five fundamental elements (pillars) of CM per EIA-649 when performing DM activities.
