* 4+ years of professional software development experience

## Description

STraffic America is looking for a Transit Systems Firmware & Software Integration Engineer to contribute to the development, deployment, and support of advanced Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) technologies used by leading public transportation agencies. This role combines embedded software engineering, device integration, troubleshooting, and field support to ensure reliable fare processing solutions across North America.

What You'll Do

 * Develop and enhance embedded and application software for AFC devices and supporting systems
 * Participate in the full software lifecycle, including architecture, coding, debugging, testing, and deployment
 * Investigate software, hardware, and communication issues to identify root causes and implement solutions
 * Support device implementation projects remotely and at customer sites
 * Analyze diagnostic logs, system performance metrics, and operational data
 * Execute validation and quality assurance testing to ensure system reliability and compliance
 * Collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer support teams to optimize system performance
 * Maintain technical specifications, test plans, and operational documentation
