## About the Role

* Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
 * 3+ years' experience in design, development, and testing.
 * 3+ years' experience within hardware-focused organizations.
 * 3+ years' experience working with CAD software, preferably Siemens NX or PTC Creo.
 * Comfortable working in fast-paced, startup environment.
 * Design experience in one or more of the following areas:

 * Mechanical Design, Bearing Design, Seal Design, Rotor dynamics; balancing fundamentals, and/or DFM, GD&T and blueprint review

Track record of a clear communication process between design, manufacturing, and test operations to ensure products meets all specifications.

Desired Skills and Experience:

 * 2+ years' experience in turbomachinery design, development, and testing.
 * Experience operating in ISO 9001 or AS9100 certified organizations.
 * Demonstrated success as project lead.
 * Working knowledge of thermodynamics of incompressible flows and cryogenic fluids.
 * Demonstrated proficiency with basic principles of design for additive manufacturing
 * Liquid propellant rocket engine design, test, or analysis
 * Experience with structural and thermal analysis using Ansys FEA software
 * Experience of 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation in CAD

## Description

* Perform clean sheet design of turbopump subcomponents and assemblies to meet all system level requirements.
 * Incorporate design modifications of existing components to increase performance, improve manufacturability, and resolve limitations.
 * Support turbomachinery-related root-cause analysis efforts.
 * Support analysis to ensure our turbopumps meet all system level requirements.
 * Collaborate with the manufacturing, analysis, and test teams to reduce part-to-part variation and discrepancies to improve product performance and yield.
 * Support assembly of first article prototypes., Must be a U.S. Person (this includes U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents).
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
