Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Senior Domain Architect - **Company:** Data Communications Company - **Location:** London, UK - **Experience:** Expert - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Cloud Services, Systems Integration, Technical Debt, Legacy Systems - **Published:** September 18, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=7ce5a98c48fe510a ## About the Role * Strong enterprise or domain architecture experience in complex, large-scale technology environments, with ownership of technology roadmaps and architecture governance. * End-to-end systems thinking, including experience designing and assuring solutions across cloud, infrastructure, applications and system integrations. * Experience managing technology lifecycle challenges such as legacy platforms, technical debt, obsolescence, resilience, migration or transition planning. * Commercially aware stakeholder and supplier management skills, with the credibility to challenge, influence and communicate technical decisions to senior and non-technical audiences. * Experience of smart metering, SMETS1 or another large-scale regulated operational service is highly desirable and will enable you to make an impact quickly. ## Description How you will contribute to transforming the smart energy network and shaping the future. * Own and govern the SMETS1 technology strategy, architecture and roadmap, ensuring decisions support service sustainability, regulatory obligations and future transition and retirement planning. * Lead architecture assurance across applications, infrastructure, cloud services and device technologies, ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and best practice. * Manage architectural risk across the SMETS1 estate, including technical debt, obsolescence, resilience, security and cross-supplier dependencies, driving proportionate mitigation strategies. * Review, challenge and influence supplier architecture, roadmaps and technical solutions to improve outcomes, value for money and alignment with DCC strategy. * Act as a trusted technical authority for internal and external stakeholders, translating complex technical choices into clear recommendations based on business value, risk and operational impact.
