These systems rely on embedded hardware and software that safely and reliably control the movement of payloads in and out of the submarine. The department also oversees subcontractor development and collaborates closely with internal partners across electrical design, software, and integrated logistics. Precision and disciplined systems engineering are essential due to the missioncritical nature of this work. Role Summary This position supports the D440 SP Electronic Systems (Components) group, which is responsible for the design and engineering of laboratory and production electronic hardware used in payload handling and launching systems. The team develops ruggedized enclosures, embedded control systems, power distribution and supply systems, cooling solutions, networking hardware, and circuitlevel designs. Work includes prototyping, engineering development model fabrication, testing, and construction support. The group also manages subcontractor activities, drafting specifications, overseeing vendor performance, and reviewing/approving technical deliverables. This role interfaces frequently with NAVSEA, NUWC, shipyards, design groups, laboratory teams, trades, the program office, other engineering disciplines, and numerous vendors.
