The City and County of Denver's Community Planning and Development Department (CPD) is seeking a highly motivated individual who is eager to work on a dynamic team to join our Contractor Licensing work group as our Part Time Licensing Technician. This position provides you with the opportunity to demonstrate your direct customer service talent and licensing and/or regulatory expertise in an environment dedicated to trust, collaboration, and building rapport with your colleagues and customers. Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics: * Previous experience within the construction field helpful * An understanding of how to research and apply municipal codes and statutes * Excellent customer service and problem solving skills * Ability to learn quickly * Familiar with the following software programs: Accela Permit Tracking System (helpful, not required), Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel * Efficiently demonstrates excellent time/work management skills * Works well under pressure and able to multitask * Strong attention to detail and highly organized, * Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate. * Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of clerical experience including one (1) year of experience performing specialized and/or technical office support work. * Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements. * License/Certifications: None, Applicants for employment with the City and County of Denver must have valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the U.S. ## Description BUILDING COMMUNITY: Denver Community Planning and Development is responsible for visionary city planning and ensuring safe, responsible, sustainable building. The Part Time Licensing Technician will need to be comfortable and adept at working within a web-based system and explaining city licensing rules, regulations, and state statutes to customers.
