Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in data engineering and data governance, or an equivalent field, is required. The role requires demonstrated supervisory or management experience leading technical teams. Technical Skills: * Demonstrated experience building and supporting enterprise data systems such as ODS, EDW, and Data Lakes using Microsoft, Oracle, Snowflake, Amazon, or other data platforms. * Proficiency in PL/SQL and/or T-SQL with experience in database development or administration on Oracle and/or SQL Server platforms. * Experience with ETL/integration tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), or SnapLogic. * Experience building and supporting application integrations, data integrations, BI solutions, reports, and dashboards. Preferred Qualifications * Direct experience serving as a data management officer at a public university in Texas. * Working knowledge of Texas DIR requirements, Texas Data Management Framework, and Texas Administrative Code (TAC) 202. * Experience with higher education platforms such as Ellucian Banner/Colleague, PeopleSoft/Oracle Campus Solutions, Workday, Salesforce, or Canvas. * Certifications such as DAMA CDMP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, or relevant Oracle certifications. * Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or Snowflake) in a higher education or public sector setting. * Familiarity with data privacy and compliance frameworks (FERPA, HIPAA, etc.). ## Description This position leads the enterprise data engineering function and the institutional data governance program. The Manager will be responsible for the architecture, development, and support of the Operational Data Store (ODS), Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Data Lake, and data integration pipelines. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires the ability to review, optimize, and approve code while also guiding the team from a technical architecture and design perspective.
