Special Requirements Possession of a valid driver's license. ## Description The Fleet Service Division is responsible for managing and administering the general municipal fleet, including the repair, inspection, and replacement of approximately 1,500 active assets in the safest, most efficient, and most sustainable way. The Fleet Data Analyst plays a key role in our operations by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing available data to better inform our programmatic and operational decisions This is responsible professional data analytics work in the areas of automotive policies, operations, finances, and human resources. This position will use data to provide innovative solutions to complex problems in relation to City-wide or agency plans, goals, strategies, and operational effectiveness. Areas of data analysis include but are not limited to new vehicle and equipment acquisitions, fleet asset utilization, vehicle repairs, technician productivity, vendor costs, parts costs, miles, engine hours, collisions, emerging safety technologies, vehicle telematics, and fuel efficiency. Work is performed independently within applicable policy and procedural guidelines under the general supervision of the Fleet Service Superintendent. This position will collaborate with other Fleet employees to analyze data, automate reports, and create reporting tools to further their work. The Fleet Data Analyst will be considered part of the division's Senior Staff. This series is structured to provide advancement from Data Analyst 1 to Data Analyst 2, as a function of the employee's career development and generally occurs after two years of starting employment as an Data Analyst 1. Progression to an Data Analyst 3 is not automatic, but rather is dependent upon the employee taking on additional duties and responsibilities as well as the needs of the agency., * Perform analysis of Fleet Service data and operating metrics * Manage the Division's Global Positioning System (GPS) Program * Maintain Fleet Service's dataset inventory * Provide administrative support for interdepartmental billing processes, information technology needs, fleet reservations, Vision Zero and other initiatives * Perform related work as required., Employee will be expected to periodically attend meetings of the Common Council and related bodies as required to present data related to fleet operations. These meetings may be scheduled in the evenings outside of normal work hours. Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary in nature and performed in an office environment. Employees will be expected to use standard office equipment such as a telephone, computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
