Technical Skills * Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals, firewalls, and virtualization. * Proficiency with RMM tools, PSA/ticketing systems, and remote management technologies. Soft Skills * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. * Ability to prioritize tasks, lead by example, and manage multiple client priorities simultaneously. * Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership to keep projects moving forward efficiently. Reliable Vehicle and willingness to travel. Occasional overnights possible. ## Description The IT Systems Specialist is a core technical resource within our MSP, responsible for managing advanced technical escalations, executing IT infrastructure projects, and maintaining client environment reliability. This role involves high-level troubleshooting, system deployments, on-call expectations, and collaboration with the help desk team. The IT Systems Specialist sets an example of technical excellence and delivers quality results in a fast-paced, client-driven environment., Technical Support & Escalation * Serve as the highest technical escalation point for the helpdesk team to resolve complex server, networking, cloud, and infrastructure issues, with management and senior leadership available for high-complexity roadblocks or strategic guidance. * Participate in the scheduled after-hours on-call rotation, and provide assistance when needed. * Provide backup support on the helpdesk queue, answering calls and handling tickets during all-hands situations or peak call volumes. * Translate technical details into simple, clear information when working with clients. Infrastructure & Implementation * Execute assigned technical projects-such as server setups, network upgrades, and client migrations-following established scopes and plans. * Advanced troubleshooting and administration for servers, virtualization (Hyper-V/VMware), Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 environments. * Install, configure, and deploy firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and core networking hardware (VLANs, VPNs, Routing). * Perform system migrations, hardware deployments, and security configurations according to project scope. Process & Documentation * Monitor operational alerts, system logs, and automated notifications to investigate and resolve client issues as they arise. * Maintain accurate, comprehensive documentation of client environments, configurations, and network topologies. * Enforce technical standards and best practices across all client environments. * Develop detailed knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures for internal technical team use.
