Strong academic background is essential. Skills/Competencies Essential: A minimum of 5 years experience in Semiconductor Optoelectronics with demonstrable competencies in the following: * Experience in opto-electronic component reliability and qualification, including programme definition, planning and implementation. * Comprehensive knowledge of optoelectronic-specific failure modes in , lasers, photodetector, modulators, resistors, waveguides and fibre coupling. * Hands-on experience on accelerated life testing and life-prediction of opto-electronic devices using reliability modeling using statistical software packages: Reliasoft/Weibull++, JMP, Minitab, Python. * Demonstrated ability use Design for Reliability, FMEA, and FTA frameworks. * Excellent report writing and presentation skills, able to robustly defend data analysis and conclusions. Skills/Competencies Desirable: * PhD in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or similar related discipline * Experience in fabrication and process engineering with an understanding of how design and manufacturing variables influence reliability performance. * Experience in test instrumentation engineering for die level characterisation and experience in C/C#, and Python. * Experience in using root-cause analysis using Electroluminescence, FIB, SEM/TEM and EDX. * Experience in Opto-electronic component design and applicability in design for reliability using COMSOL or Ansys. * Experience in deploying Machine Learning models for large reliability datasets. * Experience with customer communications on matters of reliability and qualification is beneficial. * Experience in mentoring is desirable. OTHER REQUIREMENTS * Good interpersonal and project management skills. * Willing & able to pro-actively engage with other groups within the company both verbally and via written communication. * Ability to travel worldwide to visit customers to discuss reliability work. * Self-motivated, energetic, able to work to deadlines. * The flexibility to cope with rapidly changing objectives. ## Description Reliability engineering, reliability evaluation, physics-of-failure study, and formal qualification of optoelectronic chips (III-V, SiPho). Assessment/evaluation of semiconductor and optical component ageing characteristics, failure modes & associated risks. Customer interfacing on reliability documentation and reliability work based on solid knowledge of physics-of-failures. Working closely with design, process, product and quality teams to conduct root cause investigation and reliability analysis of field returns Definition and implementation of optical component qualification programmes. Problem solving, test engineering, testing and statistical data analysis., * Reliability engineering, physics-of-failure study, and formal qualification of InP and SiP chips, * Definition and implementation of optical component reliability qualification programmes. * Assessment of optoelectronic component ageing characteristics, extracting failure mode specific degradation model & quantifying risks. * Customer interfacing on reliability documentation and reliability work based on solid knowledge of physics-of-failures. * Problem solving, test and characterisation engineering, and statistical data analysis.
