## About the Role

* 5+ years of experience in software engineering, firmware engineering, embedded systems, or related technical discipline
 * Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline

Preferred Qualifications

 * Experience collaborating with remote or globally distributed engineering teams
 * Hands-on development experience, including coding, debugging, integration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis in production environments
 * Proficiency with C, C++, Python, embedded systems, real-time operating systems, CAN, IP-based networking, or related protocols
 * Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, software architecture, and embedded development practices
 * Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and follow-through skills with a self-directed, team-oriented work style
 * Knowledge of SQLite/SQL, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, regulatory agencies, or fire products/markets

## Description

* Design, develop, code, debug, integrate, and maintain software and firmware for fire and life safety products.
 * Create and review architecture, design, and test documentation while promoting technical rigor and engineering best practices.
 * Lead solutions from concept through release while balancing quality, compliance, schedule, and maintainability.
 * Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused products.
 * Mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and contribute to a compliance-driven engineering culture.
