Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling twelve (12) years may substitute for the required education and experience. At least four (4) years leading an IT team. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Working Conditions Office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Unofficial transcripts are accepted. Why does the job exist? This position exists to implement, enhance and refine data collection, validation and reporting for K-12 education data. This position is also responsible for the information technology infrastructure needed for agency operations, and for collaboration among state agencies for the development and implementation of shared data systems. How does it get done? 1. Vision and Implementation: set the vision for PED IT, work through structural, personnel, process, and technical challenges to achieve vision. 2. Leadership and Management: help build capacity for change and improvement, coordinate with other leaders within PED, develop resources and manage budget, direct and support IT managers and serve as spokesman for the IT division. 3. Stakeholder Engagement: manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, manage data governance and cross agency collaborations regarding data, communicate effectively with stakeholders to improve systems and build support for agency initiatives. 4. Continuous Improvement: develop metrics and tracking of IT progress and ensure data quality and timeliness are improving. Who are the customers?
