When something gets past the service desk, it comes to you. This is a role for someone who has spent years in the trenches, has seen a wide range of environments, and can walk into a messy problem and work it to resolution without a lot of hand-holding. The work is a mix. Part of it is escalation, being the person who solves the hard tickets and helps the rest of the team level up. Part of it is project work, standing up new environments, migrations, infrastructure builds, the kind of work that has a beginning and an end and needs someone who sees it through. If you like variety and you like being the person others come to when they are stuck, this is a good fit. What You Will Do - Handle Tier 3 escalations across Windows Server, M365, networking, firewalls, virtualization, and backup - Own project work end to end, scoping, building, and seeing it through to completion - Serve as a technical resource and mentor for the service desk and field teams - Drive root cause analysis so recurring problems get fixed, not just patched - Document your work and keep environments to standard - Work directly with clients when an issue or project calls for it ## Related Videos - [What makes Cybersecurity different for critical infrastructure?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/571-what-makes-cybersecurity-different-for-critical-infrastructure) - [WebAssembly: The Next Frontier of Cloud Computing](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/972-webassembly-the-next-frontier-of-cloud-computing) - [How Cisco embraced a DevOps culture within its network engineering team](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/99-how-cisco-embraced-a-devops-culture-within-its-network-engineering-team) - [Generating code with Angular schematics](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/129-generating-code-with-angular-schematics) - [Computer Vision from the Edge to the Cloud done easy](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/263-computer-vision-from-the-edge-to-the-cloud-done-easy) - [Develop enterprise-ready applications for Microsoft Teams with Azure resources on modern web technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/187-develop-enterprise-ready-applications-for-microsoft-teams-with-azure-resources-on-modern-web-technologies) ## Related Articles - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Events like RSAC Get You CISOs.
