They know how to use layout, typography, hierarchy, spacing, interaction patterns, and visual systems to make complex products easier to understand and use. They bring strong independent design judgment, can explore multiple approaches, evaluate trade-offs, and confidently recommend a direction based on their own design reasoning-not simply wait for user or stakeholder feedback to determine the answer. This is not a research-heavy or product-strategy role. We are looking for a designer who can take established requirements and workflows and translate them into thoughtful, well-crafted interfaces., * Design polished interfaces for web and mobile applications. * Explore and evaluate design approaches, understand the trade-offs, and confidently recommend a clear direction. * Apply sound design judgment to make recommendations, using user feedback and stakeholder input as valuable inputs rather than the sole basis for design decisions. * Turn complex requirements and workflows into simple, intuitive experiences. * Create wireframes, high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and production-ready UI specifications. * Design complete interaction patterns including edge cases and multiple states. * Refine designs based on feedback, technical constraints, and evolving requirements. * Contribute to and maintain reusable components, patterns, and design systems. * Identify opportunities to improve the clarity, usability, consistency, and visual quality of existing interfaces. * Communicate design decisions and collaborate closely with Product and Engineering., * Polished, high-quality visual design. * Thoughtful interaction and interface behavior. * Simplifying complex workflows or reducing friction. * Design exploration and rationale behind key decisions. * How you evaluated alternatives and made a recommendation. * Handling of edge cases and different interface states. * How constraints, feedback, and trade-offs shaped the final design. * Examples where your own design judgment helped improve the outcome. We are especially interested in seeing what you thought, why you made the decisions you did, and how you arrived at the final solution-not just what the final screens look like. If your background includes graphic, brand, marketing, or another visual design discipline, we'd love to see how that experience influences your digital product work. Portfolios focused primarily on UX research, personas, journey maps, or product strategy without strong UI execution are unlikely to be a fit for this role. ## Related Videos - [Learn Enough Design to Be Dangerous](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/577-learn-enough-design-to-be-dangerous) - [Solving Architectural Entropy With Runnable Diagrams](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100144-solving-architectural-entropy-with-runnable-diagrams) - [Boost Productivity with AI: Figma & Playwright MCP Workflows - Aris Markogiannakis](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1768-boost-productivity-with-ai-figma-playwright-mcp-workflows-aris-markogiannakis) - [Bridging the Gap](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/794-bridging-the-gap) - [Fireside Chat with Kris Rasmussen, CTO at Figma](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/982-fireside-chat-with-kris-rasmussen-cto-at-figma) - [Design Systems and how to develop consistent and scalable products with them](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/639-design-systems-and-how-to-develop-consistent-and-scalable-products-with-them) ## Related Articles - [16 Best Free React UI Libraries in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/148-16-best-free-react-ui-libraries-in-2025) - [Top 5 Web Design Trends for 2023](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/155-top-5-web-design-trends-for-2023) - [Declarative Design and a fresh take on collaboration with developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/595-declarative-design-and-a-fresh-take-on-collaboration-with-developers) - [How Developers Can Focus on Maintaining Satisfaction With Accessibility](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/109-how-developers-can-focus-on-maintaining-satisfaction-with-accessibility) - [Top 7 CSS Frameworks in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/362-top-7-css-frameworks-in-2025) - [The future is here: How artificial intelligence is influencing UX design](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/65-the-future-is-here-how-artificial-intelligence-is-influencing-ux-design)
