Experience with medical devices, healthcare technology, robotics, industrial equipment, lighting, UV systems, or other regulated electromechanical products is highly valuable, but not required. ## Description Leviant is seeking a Vice President of Mechanical Engineering to lead the mechanical engineering strategy, development, and execution of our current and future hardware products. This is a hands-on leadership role. We are looking for someone who can operate at the executive level while remaining deeply connected to the engineering itself. You will help translate ambitious product concepts into reliable, manufacturable, scalable products and build the engineering discipline required to support Leviant as we grow. You will have significant ownership over the mechanical architecture of our products, from early concepts and prototypes through testing, design validation, manufacturing, and continuous improvement of products in the field. This role will work closely with company leadership as well as electrical, software, product, manufacturing, clinical, and commercial partners. What You'll Own * Lead mechanical engineering across Leviant's existing and next-generation product portfolio. * Own mechanical architecture, design strategy, engineering standards, and technical decision-making. * Lead products from concept and prototyping through detailed design, verification, validation, manufacturing, and commercialization. * Develop innovative mechanical systems that enable Leviant's patented FMUV technology, including structures, enclosures, deployment mechanisms, mobility systems, safety features, and other electromechanical components. * Drive design for manufacturability, assembly, reliability, serviceability, cost, and scale. * Build rigorous engineering processes around requirements, design reviews, testing, documentation, change control, and product lifecycle management. * Partner closely with electrical and software engineering to develop fully integrated electromechanical products. * Work with manufacturing partners and suppliers on component selection, tooling, sourcing, quality, cost reduction, and production readiness. * Lead root-cause analysis and engineering resolution of product issues identified during testing, manufacturing, or field deployment. * Evaluate existing products and identify opportunities to simplify designs, improve reliability, reduce cost, and improve the customer experience. * Help define Leviant's long-term product and technology roadmap alongside executive and product leadership. * Build and lead the mechanical engineering organization as Leviant grows, including internal engineers, contractors, development partners, and external manufacturers. * Establish a culture that combines engineering rigor with the speed, creativity, and practicality required in an early-stage company.What We're Looking For: We are looking for a builder.
