## About the Role

* Eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship is required for this position under applicable federal contract requirements. Candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance; an active Secret or Top Secret security clearance also satisfies this requirement.
 * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
 * 0-4 years of experience in software engineering, application development, or a related field.
 * Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, and a modern front-end framework such as React.js, along with a basic understanding of Node.js and RESTful APIs.
 * Familiarity with Git, version-control workflows, and fundamental software development practices.
 * Strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and ability to collaborate effectively while receiving feedback and mentorship from senior team members., * Coursework, internship, or project experience involving full-stack software development.
 * Exposure to MERN or PERN stack technologies, including MongoDB, Express.js, and PostgreSQL.
 * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or containerization technologies such as Docker.
 * Familiarity with healthcare, claims, or other regulated data environments.

## Description

SteerBridge is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support the Modern Disability Claims program. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone early in their software engineering career to learn full-stack development practices and contribute to features under the guidance of senior engineers. This individual will support mission-critical claims analytics and operational software., * Write clean, well-documented code to support full-stack application and feature development.

 * Assist with implementing and testing small, well-defined user interface (UI) and API features under the guidance of senior engineers.
 * Support senior engineers in troubleshooting and resolving software defects and technical issues.
 * Write and maintain unit tests and participate in peer code reviews to support software quality and build familiarity with team development practices.
 * Learn and apply established coding standards, development tools, workflows, and documentation practices.
 * Develop familiarity with the team's domain, codebase, and Modern Disability Claims (MDC) systems to effectively support ongoing development efforts.
