AI skills will be a plus but not necessary. * Practical understanding of design systems and the ability to create, govern, and evolve design tokens across product surfaces. * Ability to understand operating processes, user responsibilities, approvals, escalations, exceptions, and control points, then reflect them in the design. * Strong information architecture, interaction design, data visualisation, and responsive design skills. Good understanding of accessibility, usability heuristics, form design, table design, and patterns for high-volume operational interfaces. * Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders, risk users, engineers, and product teams in a fast-moving delivery environment. * Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain design decisions in terms of user needs operational value, and implementation feasibility., * UXUI design: 5 years (required) * System design: 3 years (required) Language: * Chinese (required) ## Description The designer will be responsible for turning complex system operating requirements into clear, efficient, and consistent product experiences and user interface. They must understand how teams and customer operate, monitoring performance, investigate issues, escalate cases, review controls, and act under time pressure, so the portal supports real operating decisions rather than only looking polished., * Own the full design lifecycle for the Back office portal. * Design intuitive user journeys. * Create and maintain the portal's design system, including design tokens, typography, colour, spacing, grids, components, interaction states, iconography, data visualisation patterns, and accessibility rules. * Define a consistent visual style that supports serious operational work: clear hierarchy, fast scanning, low ambiguity, strong data readability, and appropriate use of emphasis for risk severity and priority. * Work closely with operation team, product managers, engineers, analysts, compliance stakeholders, and business owners to understand operating models, user roles, control requirements, and edge cases. * Illustrate user journey that maps to validate workflow assumptions with users before development begins. * Prepare detailed design specifications for engineers, including component usage, responsive behaviour, empty/error/loading states, validation rules, and interaction notes. * Review implemented screens for design quality, usability, consistency with tokens, and alignment with the intended operating workflow. * Use user feedback, operational metrics, and stakeholder input to improve usability, reduce friction, and support faster, more confident decision-making., * Experience designing portals for risk management, fraud, AML, compliance, operations, trading, finance, payments, or regulated workflows. * Familiarity with data-rich interfaces, including alerts, severity indicators, audit trails, workflow queues, permissioned actions, and reporting dashboards. * Basic understanding of front-end implementation constraints, CSS variables/design tokens, component libraries, and developer handoff workflows. * Experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, or workflow observation with operational teams. Success Measures: * A coherent and maintainable design system for the Risk Management portal, with reusable tokens and components. * Portal workflows that are easy for operators to understand, efficient to use, and aligned with real risk management processes. * Consistent, accessible, and production-ready UI across dashboards, forms, tables, alerts, and case management journeys. * Clear design documentation that allows engineering teams to implement screens accurately and consistently. ## Related Videos - [Bridging the Gap](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/794-bridging-the-gap) - [UX is a fullstack job!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1020-ux-is-a-fullstack-job) - [Boost Productivity with AI: Figma & Playwright MCP Workflows - Aris Markogiannakis](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1768-boost-productivity-with-ai-figma-playwright-mcp-workflows-aris-markogiannakis) - [Building a component library for modern challenges](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/650-building-a-component-library-for-modern-challenges) - [Resilient by Design: Building Robust Architectures in High-Stakes Financial Systems](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2106-resilient-by-design-building-robust-architectures-in-high-stakes-financial-systems) - [Fireside Chat with Kris Rasmussen, CTO at Figma](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/982-fireside-chat-with-kris-rasmussen-cto-at-figma) ## Related Articles - [The future is here: How artificial intelligence is influencing UX design](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/65-the-future-is-here-how-artificial-intelligence-is-influencing-ux-design) - [16 Best Free React UI Libraries in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/148-16-best-free-react-ui-libraries-in-2025) - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift)
