This is a hands-on executive role. The ideal candidate can develop long-term technical strategy while working closely with engineers to solve immediate platform, integration, reporting, and scalability challenges. The CTO will partner with executive leadership, sales, operations, accounting, compliance, advertisers, and publishers to ensure that technology directly supports revenue growth, profitability, client retention, and operational efficiency. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnology Strategy and Leadership * Develop and execute a technology roadmap aligned with EDM Lead Network's revenue, margin, and growth objectives. * Translate business requirements into clear technical priorities, timelines, and deliverables. * Advise executive leadership on technology investments, risks, staffing, infrastructure, and emerging opportunities. * Establish measurable KPIs for development velocity, system reliability, security, data quality, and product adoption. * Evaluate whether systems should be built internally, purchased, integrated, or retired. * Create a scalable technology foundation capable of supporting significant increases in advertisers, publishers, offers, calls, transactions, and revenue. Platform and Product Ownership Lead the continued development and optimization of EDM's: * Advertiser Platform * Publisher Platform * Broker and white-label platforms * EDM Nexus managed-offer platform * Aged Data Marketplace * Call-routing and lead-distribution infrastructure * Reporting, billing, reconciliation, and commission systems * Compliance and quality-control technology * Internal business intelligence and operational tools Ensure these platforms provide accurate reporting, reliable attribution, secure access, efficient onboarding, and a strong user experience. Engineering Management * Lead, manage, and develop EDM's engineering and product teams. * Define clear ownership, accountability, coding standards, documentation requirements, and release procedures. * Implement disciplined sprint planning, code review, quality assurance, testing, and deployment processes. * Recruit additional engineers, product managers, data specialists, or contractors when needed. * Establish realistic delivery timelines and communicate delays or risks early. * Reduce dependence on individual developers by improving documentation, cross-training, and system ownership. * Review architecture and critical code to maintain performance, security, and long-term maintainability. Infrastructure and Reliability * Maintain reliable, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure. * Establish monitoring, alerting, incident-response, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity procedures. * Improve platform uptime, page speed, API response times, call-routing reliability, and data-processing performance. * Identify and eliminate technical bottlenecks that affect revenue or client experience. * Manage cloud, software, telecommunications, data, and technology-vendor costs. * Maintain properly separated development, staging, and production environments. Integrations and Automation * Oversee integrations with call centers, dialers, CRM systems, payment processors, compliance vendors, tracking platforms, communication tools, and third-party APIs. * Improve support for ping-post, postback, webhook, API, SIP, call-routing, and real-time bidding workflows. * Automate advertiser and publisher onboarding, billing, reconciliation, quality-control feedback, reporting, and support processes. * Introduce AI and automation where they can measurably increase revenue, reduce costs, improve compliance, or eliminate repetitive work. * Ensure integrations are documented, monitored, and resilient to third-party failures. Data and Business Intelligence * Establish a reliable source of truth for operational and financial data. * Improve reporting for revenue, gross profit, margin, consumption, conversion, advertiser performance, publisher performance, disputes, refunds, and call quality. * Partner with accounting and operations to ensure platform data reconciles with billing and payment records. * Develop dashboards and alerts that help leadership identify opportunities and problems in real time. * Implement strong standards for data accuracy, retention, access, and governance. Security, Privacy, and Compliance * Own the company's cybersecurity program and technology risk management. * Protect consumer, advertiser, publisher, employee, payment, and company data. * Implement role-based access controls, multifactor authentication, encryption, audit logs, vulnerability management, and secure development practices. * Maintain vendor-access controls and promptly remove access for former employees and contractors. * Support compliance with applicable privacy, telecommunications, marketing, and data-protection requirements. * Partner with legal and compliance teams on consent records, suppression processes, DNC requirements, data lineage, and audit readiness. * Develop and test incident-response and data-breach procedures. * Create a roadmap toward appropriate security standards or certifications as business needs evolve. Commercial and Operational Partnership * Work directly with sales and operations to accelerate advertiser launches and publisher monetization. * Participate in strategic client conversations when technical expertise is required. * Evaluate the commercial impact and return on investment of proposed platform features. * Prioritize development based on revenue potential, margin impact, customer experience, compliance exposure, and operational savings. * Help reduce manual work, reporting errors, billing discrepancies, missed revenue, and unnecessary technology expenses. First 90-Day Priorities The successful candidate will be expected to: * Complete a comprehensive audit of EDM's platforms, codebase, infrastructure, integrations, security, vendors, technical debt, and development processes. * Document the current system architecture and identify critical dependencies and risks. * Establish ownership and accountability across the engineering and product teams. * Create a prioritized 12-month technology roadmap tied to business objectives. * Resolve the most urgent platform reliability, reporting, data-accuracy, and security issues. * Implement a consistent development, testing, release, and incident-management process. * Establish baseline KPIs for uptime, development velocity, infrastructure costs, defects, response times, and product adoption. * Present a technology staffing, vendor, security, and infrastructure plan to executive leadership. * Identify high-impact automation opportunities that can increase revenue or reduce operating costs.
