All coursework must be from an accredited college or university. * Teaching Experience in Computer Science or highly related field (either at the college or secondary level) required. Minimum Competencies * Clearly explaining concepts, active listening, and providing constructive, immediate feedback. * Creating a positive, safe, and collaborative learning environment that encourages student participation and self-management. * Maintaining subject-matter expertise, engaging in continuous professional development, and demonstrating cultural competence., * College teaching experience. * Online teaching experience. * Digital game design / development experience. Preferred Competencies In addition to a Master's degree in Computer Science, a Master's degree or 18 graduate-level hours in either Information Technology or Engineering. ## Description * Provides instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations as needed * Demonstrates a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence * Maintains access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication * Prepares and utilizes a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution * Maintains current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilizes a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources * Advises students in academic matters * Evaluates students' performance through a variety of means to measure progress and keep them informed in a timely manner * Assists in the development, distribution, and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives * Provides recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Head, and Curriculum Resource Team regarding curriculum * Demonstrates a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community * Submits timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments * Exhibits a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities * Engages in collegial activities and service activities across the department, division, and college * Possesses a passion for teaching community college students * Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both written and orally * Attends college orientation and required institutional meetings * Responsible for other related duties as assigned, Leave time includes 16 hours personal each year and 8 hours sick leave for each month of contract. Paid leave is provided for college designated holidays, spring break, thanksgiving and Christmas break (approx. 25 days per year).
