Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) including appropriate endorsement(s). Core Competencies & ADA Compliance Data Utilization: Requires the ability to determine, calculate, tabulate, or summarize data/information. Includes performing subsequent actions in relation to these computational operations. Human Interaction: Requires the ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others on how to apply procedures and standards to specific situations. Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate and control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments. Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to communicate a variety of reference and descriptive data and information. Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. May include counting, recording of counts and basic measuring. Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems; to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; and to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives. Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria. ADA COMPLIANCE Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds). Sensory Requirements: Some tasks may require the ability to perceive and discern colors or shades of colors, sounds, odors, depths, textures, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks may require the ability to communicate orally. Environmental Factors: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature extremes, traffic hazards, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances. ## Description Drives transit system bus to transport passengers along assigned route; observes traffic safety rules; maintains transit schedules. Greets boarding passengers; collects fares and transfers; ensures passengers enter and exit bus safely; provides information/directions; maintains order on bus; assists elderly and passengers with disabilities as needed. Performs pre-trip inspections; sweeps bus daily and empties trash cans; fuels bus as directed. Prepares accident reports, vehicle maintenance reports, and incident reports; maintains accurate passenger count; submits to supervisor. Responds as appropriate to emergency situations or vehicle breakdowns. Consults with other operators regarding transfers. Operates two-way radio to provide information or receive advice/direction.
