Communication Skills * Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, non-technical language for end users at all levels of the organization. * Ability to write clear and informative documentation, procedures, and ticket notes; edits work for accuracy, spelling, and grammar. * Ability to interpret technical and vendor documentation and respond to questions from managers, employees, and vendors., * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred. * Minimum of two years of hands-on desktop support, service desk, or endpoint administration experience, five years or more preferred, including support of Windows endpoints and Microsoft 365 in a production business environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Preferred: experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or multi-site environment, and hands-on experience with modern endpoint management, Microsoft Entra ID, PowerShell, and an enterprise ITSM platform. LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION The following licenses/certifications are a plus: * CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ - vendor-neutral foundational certifications * Microsoft MD-102 - Endpoint Administrator * Microsoft AZ-900, SC-900, or SC-300 - Azure, security, and identity fundamentals * ITIL 4 Foundation - IT service management The preceding position description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this position. It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required of employees assigned to this position. ## Description Endpoint Support and Lifecycle * Provides a full range of support services for end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, and label makers. * Provisions, images, deploys, and maintains Windows and Mac devices, including operating system configuration, operating system upgrades, security settings, and standard application baselines. * Applies software updates, patches, and firmware upgrades to workstations, servers, and network equipment. * Manages the hardware lifecycle from procurement receipt through refresh, redeployment, and retirement, and maintains accurate asset records and secure disposal. Service Desk Operations * Uses the internal Incident Management System to log, categorize, prioritize, and resolve incidents and service requests, and maintains accurate documentation of the status, steps performed, and resolution of each ticket. * Meets defined service level targets, communicates status proactively, and escalates issues with complete technical detail at handoff. Identity, Collaboration, and Infrastructure * Creates and manages user accounts, groups, mailboxes, and passwords according to company policies and standards, and executes onboarding, transfer, and termination access changes accurately and on time. * Administers Microsoft 365 services, including email, collaboration, and file storage, and manages license assignment. * Supports multi-factor authentication enrollment, access requirements, and password reset processes. * Assists with server and virtual machine patching, monitoring alerts, backup verification, and restore requests. * Performs basic configuration and troubleshooting of network devices, wireless access points, and VPN connectivity. Production and Site Support * Supports shop-floor workstations, kiosks, and operator terminals in a manufacturing environment, along with production peripherals such as label, thermal, and production printers, barcode scanners, and handheld devices. * Supports conference room technology, digital signage, and site network and wireless coverage. * Travels to other company locations as required to provide on-site support. Security * Works as part of the Cybersecurity team; maintains a continuous focus on the security of company network and resources, and actively monitors for risks and vulnerabilities in accordance with company security policies. * Maintains endpoint protection coverage and remediates detections, vulnerabilities, and missing patches as assigned. * Complies with least-privilege access principles and does not access data or systems beyond the scope of the assigned role. * Handles personal, sensitive, and confidential data in accordance with applicable privacy regulations and company data classification policies, and does not leave sensitive data in unsecured physical or digital form. * Promptly reports suspected security incidents, phishing attempts, data breaches, or policy violations to the security team. * Supports evidence collection and control testing for information security audits and certifications, and completes required security awareness training monthly. Documentation, Projects, and Improvement * Reads and follows documented procedures, and creates and maintains technical runbooks, configuration standards, and user-facing documentation. * Trains and educates users on internal systems and on troubleshooting common issues on their own. * Completes projects as assigned and sees each through to full completion; participates in the project management methodology and reports progress regularly. * Uses approved AI tools to assist with troubleshooting, documentation, and scripting in accordance with company AI usage policy. * Identifies opportunities to improve processes and services, recommends improvements to the supervisor, and shares knowledge across the team. General Expectations * Full-time position that participates in the after-hours on-call rotation, responds to emergency issues and outages during non-scheduled hours, and participates in scheduled maintenance events on nights and weekends. * Responsible for the successful and timely completion of assigned tasks and projects, and meets all defined departmental standards for quality, productivity, and efficiency. * Reports to work as scheduled and on time; works overtime and weekends as required to meet business needs; occasional travel and overnight stays may be required. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Endpoint and Operating Systems * Configures, secures, and maintains Windows 10 and 11 and macOS in an enterprise environment. (Required) * Manages devices through modern endpoint management and Group Policy, including imaging and application deployment, and supports mobile devices under mobile device management. * Performs hardware installation, diagnostics, and component-level troubleshooting. Microsoft 365 and Identity * Administers Microsoft 365 applications and services including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. (Required) * Manages identities and access in Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory, including users, groups, and licensing. * Understands multi-factor authentication, conditional access, and modern authentication concepts. Networking, Servers, and Infrastructure * Understands IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, common network protocols, and structured cabling. * Supports wired and wireless connectivity, VPN clients, and remote access. * Understands core server roles, virtual server environments, supporting infrastructure such as storage and UPS equipment, and backup and restore concepts. Security and Automation * Administers endpoint protection and applies patch and vulnerability remediation practices, disk encryption, and secure configuration baselines. * Recognizes phishing and social engineering attempts and follows incident reporting procedures. * Uses PowerShell to automate routine administrative, deployment, and reporting tasks.
