You will work closely with FX business stakeholders and other engineers to refine requirements, design solutions, write and review code, test changes, and operate applications in production. Just as importantly, you will help the current team grow. You will coach colleagues, encourage sound engineering decisions, raise development standards, and create an environment in which people collaborate, learn, and take responsibility. What you will do * Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-scale Java applications supporting FX trading. * Translate complex business and trading requirements into reliable, implementable technical solutions. * Develop multithreaded, low-latency software using modern Java and established coding practices. * Work with trading concepts and systems covering areas such as pricing, risk management, and trade execution. * Take ownership of applications throughout their lifecycle, from solution design and implementation to release, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement. * Maintain high standards for reliability, stability, code quality, observability, and production readiness. * Proactively identify operational risks and improvements rather than waiting for incidents to occur. * Investigate and resolve complex incidents by connecting information across applications, services, tools, and initiatives. * Review code and promote engineering best practices across the team. * Coach less-experienced developers and help them grow in technical capability, confidence, and ownership. * Constructively challenge technical decisions and stakeholder expectations when this will lead to a better outcome. * Strengthen collaboration between technology teams and Financial Markets stakeholders. You will work in a collaborative and international DevOps team within ABN AMRO's Financial Markets division. The role offers a mix of software engineering and business interaction, with direct impact on Foreign Exchange (FX) trading applications.
