Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Digital Business Analyst - **Company:** West Midlands - **Location:** Birmingham, UK - **Experience:** Experienced - **Salary:** £45,728.0 - £50,778.0 - **Contract:** Temporary contract - **Skills:** E-Business, Release Management, Usage Analysis - **Published:** October 2, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.wmjobs.co.uk/external-redirect-registration?JobId=278047&LinkSource=JobDetails ## About the Role * At least 2 years' experience of working as a Business Analyst or sufficient time working on large-scale projects * Experience of working within a team of Business Analysts on a range of varying sized projects * Experience in the full Business Analysis lifecycle including Pre-Project, Scoping, Estimating, Mapping, Stakeholder Analysis, Requirements Gathering, Solution Analysis, Product Analysis, User Acceptance Testing and Release Management * Experience supporting execution from the As-Is position to the To-Be status, identifying the approach and methodologies within a clearly defined business case * Experience in using Business Analysis and Process Mapping tools * Proven track record of building rapport and excellent relationships with a range of stakeholders * Demonstrable experience identifying, evaluating, weighting and mitigating issues and risks * Excellent technical, analytical and project management skills * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Business Analysis certification or proven experience working at this level ## Description As a Digital Business Analyst at the WMCA, you'll play a key role in helping us turn business needs into practical, effective technology and digital solutions. You'll be the person who can speak both the language of the business and technology - listening to colleagues, understanding their challenges and translating their needs into solutions that make a genuine difference. Working with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, you'll get under the skin of how things work today, identifying pain points, inefficiencies and opportunities to do things differently. You'll map processes, gather and translate requirements, and work collaboratively with colleagues to design simpler, smarter and more joined-up ways of working. You'll be part of our brand-new Product team, working closely with Solution Architects, Developers and colleagues across Technology & Insight, as well as teams across the WMCA. You'll contribute to exciting programmes and projects, including Bus Franchising and our website transformation, giving you the opportunity to work on initiatives that have a real impact on our organisation and the communities we serve. We're looking for a people-focused, collaborative and delivery-oriented Business Analyst who is confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and can hit the ground running. Please note that this is a 24-month fixed term contract. What you will be doing * Evaluate internal functions, business development strategies, and IT processes to recommend business and process improvements. * Identify potential areas of automation. * Work with project stakeholders to understand and investigate feedback relating to identified services, functions, or products throughout evaluation, design, and implementation. * Translate business requirements into functional specifications. * Take responsibility for overseeing and enhancing change evaluation processes. * Oversee supplier delivery against business requirements. * Ensure organisational requirements are understood and delivered by suppliers. * Maintain clear documentation and ensure requirements are traceable throughout the delivery lifecycle. * Translate complex business needs into clear requirements, user stories and actionable outcomes. * Map as-is and to-be processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and greater efficiency. * Gather, analyse and document business requirements through stakeholder engagement and facilitated workshops. * Work across the organisation to understand current processes, systems, services and ways of working., We are also proud to be a Ban the Box employer, which means we do not ask about criminal convictions at the initial application stage, and will only ask after an offer is made as part of our onboarding checks, which helps us remove barriers for people with past convictions and supporting fair opportunities for all.
