## About the Role

* Bachelor's Degree in any related field
 * Minimum of 5 years of DBA experience.
 * Experience administering Oracle or Postgres databases (ideally both)
 * Experience with AWS/RDS/S3/DMS
 * Experience working with and debugging Oracle/Postgres databases
 * Experience with Oracle/Postgres database patching and upgrades
 * Experience conducting performance tuning on Oracle/Postgres databases
 * Experience with Oracle/Postgres database backup/recovery tools and techniques, such as Oracle RMAN and Flashback
 * Experience with restoring Oracle/Postgres databases
 * Experience configuring Oracle/Postgres databases to meet federal security guidelines
 * Experience identifying and resolving performance or availability issues in databases
 * Experience providing guidance and support to application developers in the creation and deployment of DML or DDL scripts in support of application maintenance or deployment
 * Databases (Intermediate)
 * AWS RDS Configuration (Intermediate)
 * Must be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
 * Must be able to work independently, with minimal oversight.

## Description

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Database Administrator for one of our clients. The designated candidate for this position will join a collaborative team environment, providing support and expertise necessary toward the successful delivery of the project deliverables, and provide effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting status/progress. The place of performance for this contract is in Washington, DC. Responsibilities:

 * Administer Oracle and Postgres databases
 * Debug Oracle and Postgres databases
 * Patch and upgrade Oracle and Postgres databases
 * Conduct performance tuning on Oracle and Postgres databases
 * Resolve issues with Oracle and Postgres databases
