This Hardware Lead position is within our Space Systems business with a focus on Space Electronics product area. Drawing strength from our differences, we're innovating for the future. And you can, too. BAE Space Systems is highly touted as an industry leader for its suite of radiation hardened products. BAE Systems Manassas leverages decades of expertise in designing and building robust Space products that can be found on almost all commercial, civil and national security Space missions. These missions include GPS, weather monitoring, satellite TV and radio, and exploring the universe (most notably the computers on all Mars rovers). From semiconductor components to ASICS to Circuit Card Assemblies and Sub-Systems, our products are ubiquitous throughout Earth's orbit and beyond. As a Hardware Lead, the position will own the cost, schedule and technical content within the hardware scope from conceptual development through detail design, qualification, and production support. The position will oversee technical program execution working with other leads (Electrical, Mechanical, Radiation, etc). The role will be responsible for CAMing (Cost Account Management) and Earned Value reporting for the hardware scope. The role will also be responsible for program proposals and start activities such as creating ROMs, BOEs, development plans, and schedules. Hardware leads are responsible for jumping in and solving technical problems as they happen and supporting the team along the way. The Hardware Lead will also be involved heavily with integration efforts as hardware arrives. The Hardware Lead will not be a people manager, but they will be expected to provide some feedback on the team for performance. This position reports to Space Systems Hardware Engineering management and will be in the same department as the other Hardware Engineers working on the same programs. The role will be part of a diverse, enthusiastic and highly productive team, where each employee has the opportunity to grow their skills and work on challenging projects.
