## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in math, science, engineering, or related field

## Description

We are seeking a Data Scientist to support NAVSEA / Portfolio Acquisition Executive Maritime. This is a Hybrid position in the Washington, DC area.

Candidate will be part of a new Data Analytics team supporting Surface Ship Modernization and Sustainment. Anticipated tasking includes:

 * Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
 * Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
 * Visualize, interpret, and report data findings by creating dynamic data reports.
 * Assist in the development of briefing material.
 * Execute data calls to gather inputs from stakeholders. Consolidate and communicate information from data calls to government leadership for further action.
 * Evaluate deficiencies, recommend improvements, and coordinate their implementation.
