AI-Augmented Software Development AI-assisted development is an important part of how we approach modern software engineering. We are particularly interested in candidates who meaningfully use tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, or comparable coding agents in their regular workflow. We want engineers who use AI to expand what they can accomplish while retaining responsibility for understanding and validating the result. * Use AI to understand unfamiliar codebases, research technologies, plan implementations, write and modify code, develop tests, debug problems, refactor systems, and automate repetitive work. * Critically evaluate AI-generated solutions, recognize incorrect assumptions, validate implementations, and know when direct engineering investigation is the better approach. * Experience with repository-level agent instructions, reusable agent workflows, MCP integrations, custom tooling, or agentic development processes is a plus. Additional Experience We'd Value Experience with some of the following is preferred; we don't expect every candidate to have all of them: * AWS * Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code technologies * Docker or other container technologies * CI/CD pipelines * Elasticsearch or other search technologies * Microservices and distributed systems * Event-driven architectures * Linux, command-line tooling, and Bash * Large-scale or data-intensive applications For Senior-Level Candidates * Strong system-design and architectural judgment. * Ownership of systems from design through production. * Ability to evaluate scalability, reliability, performance, maintainability, security, and cost tradeoffs. * Ability to diagnose complex problems across distributed systems. * Ability to turn ambiguous requirements into clear technical approaches. * Thoughtful code and design review skills. * Ability to mentor engineers and improve team effectiveness. ## Description We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer or Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our CMS Team to design and build customer-facing applications across our services and web experience. This is a hands-on role for an engineer comfortable moving between backend services and modern frontend development. You will work with Kotlin/Java and Spring on the server side and React, Vite, and TypeScript on the frontend, helping deliver high-quality product experiences from API to interface. We value strong engineering fundamentals, attention to detail, collaboration, and engineers who are comfortable learning and applying modern technologies. Core Functions Of The Role * Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack applications that distribute high-value information to our customers. * Develop backend services and APIs using Kotlin/Java, Spring, and related technologies. * Build modern frontend experiences using React, Vite, and TypeScript. * Apply sound component architecture, state-management, asynchronous data-fetching, accessibility, and render-performance practices. * Work with relational and NoSQL databases, Elasticsearch, and large datasets. * Participate throughout the Agile development lifecycle, including sprint planning, design sessions, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. * Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality client experiences. * Contribute to code reviews, technical design, engineering standards, and improvements to team practices. ## Related Videos - [Navigating the Future of Junior Developers in Tech](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1280-navigating-the-future-of-junior-developers-in-tech) - [How a Small Team Shrank a Microsoft Monorepo by 94%](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1236-how-a-small-team-shrank-a-microsoft-monorepo-by-94) - [Leveraging Real time data in FSIs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/806-leveraging-real-time-data-in-fsis) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [The AI-Ready Stack: Rethinking the Engineering Org of the Future](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1706-the-ai-ready-stack-rethinking-the-engineering-org-of-the-future) - [Git for Code Reviews](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/429-git-for-code-reviews) ## Related Articles - [What is Software Engineering in the Age of AI?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/640-what-is-software-engineering-in-the-age-of-ai) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [What’s the Difference between a Junior, Mid, and Senior Developer?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/238-what-s-the-difference-between-a-junior-mid-and-senior-developer) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers)
