Good communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with YourKit, Java Flight Recorder, VisualVM, or similar tools. Experience with Redis or other caching technologies. Familiarity with CI/CD and automated performance testing. Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Splunk. Experience supporting high-volume applications with many users. Work Requirements Must be local to the Alpharetta, GA area. Must be available to work in a hybrid environment. Must be available for an on-site interview. ## Description We are seeking a Performance Engineer with strong experience using Apache JMeter to test and improve the performance, stability, and scalability of Java-based applications. The engineer will create and execute load tests, identify system bottlenecks, analyze test results, and work with development and infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain JMeter test plans and scripts. Perform load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing. Configure JMeter for parameterization, correlation, assertions, and distributed testing. Analyze response times, throughput, error rates, and resource utilization. Identify performance bottlenecks in Java applications, databases, APIs, and infrastructure. Review application logs and monitoring data to support root-cause analysis. Use tools such as YourKit, Java Flight Recorder, or similar tools to identify CPU, memory, and thread-related issues. Test applications running on Java 8 through Java 21. Analyze SQL queries, database connections, indexes, and locks. Support performance testing of microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, load balancers, and Redis. Prepare test plans, performance reports, and recommendations.
