This role defines and drives the long-term software vision, ensuring scalability, technical integrity, and interoperability across multiple configurations. It requires maintaining strong relationships with Navy stakeholders, internal engineering teams, and major industry partners. The architect ensures cohesive architectural direction that aligns with strategic program objectives. This position demands deep technical expertise and strategic thinking to guide complex, mission-critical software across multivariant radar platforms. The architect provides enterprise-level leadership, shaping architectural decisions that influence multiple programs and subcontractors. They lead cross-organizational technical integration efforts to ensure product-line consistency and long-term sustainability. The role requires balancing modernization priorities with operational reliability and performance expectations. The Software Architect is responsible for resolving the most complex technical challenges impacting system performance, schedule, or deployment. They drive multi-program architecture strategies that support both current fleet operations and future mission needs. The architect ensures software meets stringent mission-critical performance and reliability requirements for the U.S. Navy. Through technical authority and collaboration, they maintain the product line's architectural coherence while advancing software modernization across the radar franchise. This position is onsite in Marlborough, MA. What You Will Do * Lead the software architecture vision and long-term roadmap for the SPY-6 FoR's, ensuring scalable, secure, and interoperable solutions across all configurations. * Provide technical leadership across multiple programs and subcontractors, guiding architectural decisions and driving modernization initiatives such as modular open-system approaches, DevSecOps, and digital engineering. * Collaborate closely with Systems, Hardware, and Navy stakeholders to define capabilities, ensure end-to-end system coherence, and support high-visibility technical reviews. * Identify and mitigate critical technical risks, direct subcontractor technical approaches, and maintain architectural consistency across radar variants and shared software components. * Support new business pursuits through technical baselines and proposal contributions while mentoring senior engineers and championing modern engineering practices. * Establish and enforce architectural standards, interface definitions, and design patterns to ensure software quality, maintainability, and long-term product-line integrity. * Drive cross-baseline alignment across SPY-6 FoR variants to prevent divergent implementations and maintain product-line coherence. * Lead the adoption of model-based architecture and digital engineering tools to improve lifecycle traceability and system integration.
