Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Platform Engineer - **Company:** Waystone Governance Ltd. - **Location:** Leeds, UK - **Experience:** Experienced - **Salary:** £75,693.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Microsoft Windows, Artificial Intelligence, Amazon Web Services, Confluence, Microsoft Azure, Cloud Computing, Cloud Computing Security, Cloud Engineering, Configuration Management, Code Review, Continuous Integration, Software Debugging, Linux, DevOps, Github, Identity and Access Management, Network Security, Octopus Deploy, Windows PowerShell, Ansible, Software Vulnerability Management, Scripting, Cloud Platform System, GitHub Copilot, System Availability, Delivery Pipeline, AI Coding Agents, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes, Deployment Automation, Atlassian Tools, Azure AKS, Terraform, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Microservices - **Published:** October 3, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.adzuna.co.uk/jobs/details/5907687188 ## About the Role * University degree or equivalent practical experience, with a minimum of three years' experience as a Platform Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer or similar role. * Strong experience designing and implementing infrastructure in Azure and AWS. * Deep, hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. * Experience building and debugging CI/CD and deployment pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps or similar). * Strong Windows OS management in cloud environments; solid Linux fundamentals (deeper experience a plus). * Proficient in a scripting language such as PowerShell, with experience automating operational workflows. * Sound understanding of cloud security principles, identity and access management (Entra ID / IAM) and network security. * Understanding of application architectures and CI/CD workflows, and how infrastructure aligns with them. * Experience working closely with development delivery teams in an agile environment, using tooling such as Jira and Confluence to manage and track work. * Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders. * AI-literate, with the ability to adopt and apply AI-assisted engineering tooling (e.g. GitHub Copilot, AI coding assistants and agents) to accelerate delivery, automation and documentation, and a willingness to keep pace with an evolving AI toolset. * Able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams - balancing project delivery, BAU and support commitments - prioritising effectively and working independently across competing demands. * Able to participate in the on-call rota - on-call is a requirement of this role.
