Education and Experience

 * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus twenty (20) years of relevant Software Engineering experience; OR
 * Twenty-four (24) years of relevant Software Engineering experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.

Clearance Requirement:

 * Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role

## Description

At Independent Software, as a DevOps Software Engineer Level 3, you will support the development, deployment, and administration of complex mission-critical systems. This highly customer-facing role combines software engineering, DevOps, Kubernetes, Linux, and infrastructure automation in support of satellite communications systems.

You will work with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy solutions using C++ or Python, Kubernetes, GPU technologies, and modern DevOps practices while helping ensure systems meet operational and user requirements.

Key Responsibilities

 * Develop, deploy, and sustain mission-critical software and infrastructure solutions
 * Develop software and automation using C++ and/or Python
 * Design, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes environments
 * Support containerized applications, cluster networking, storage, monitoring, and security
 * Automate system configuration and deployment using Ansible, Bash, Python, and Git-based workflows
 * Configure, troubleshoot, and secure Linux environments, including RHEL and Rocky Linux
 * Support CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and automated testing
 * Troubleshoot networking, software, infrastructure, and deployment issues
 * Collaborate directly with customers and engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions
 * Support GPU technologies and satellite/RF-related applications
