This position designs and develops web-accessible software solutions that engage users and meet business requirements, including application features, user interfaces, software code, and supporting web infrastructure. The developer collaborates with web administrators, designers, and technical teams throughout the development lifecycle. This role receives direction in several aspects of the work while gaining exposure to more complex development tasks., The Web Software Developer II supports CICP modernization through web software design, development, integration, and testing. Responsibilities include: Design and develop web-accessible software solutions that engage users, meet business requirements, and improve legacy workflows.Collaborate with web administrators, designers, developers, analysts, and stakeholders throughout the full development lifecycle.Create wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs; contribute to new features and application enhancements.Design and implement visually appealing, easy-to-use graphical user interfaces consistent with CISA branding and approved design standards.Develop, implement, and debug application code using approved web technologies; maintain reusable interface components.Design and develop supporting web infrastructure, including back-end databases and SQL queries through CGI scripting.Integrate web interfaces with application services, APIs, dashboards, geospatial tools, and approved enterprise visualization tools.Incorporate Section 508 accessibility into each iteration and release; test keyboard access, focus order, contrast, labels, error messages, and assistive technology compatibility.Participate in agile planning, code reviews, and design reviews; complete assigned development activities with periodic direction and escalate complex technical issues.Support test plans and acceptance criteria; test usability, accessibility, responsive layouts, and browser compatibility, and document defects and recommendations.Coordinate with security and development teams on access controls, privacy, and secure handling of Protected Critical Infrastructure Information (PCII).Support migration and deployment by reviewing interface readiness, identifying user experience impacts, and validating updated workflows after release.Review application and front-end changes for design conformance, accessibility, security, and maintainability; resolve defects before release.Maintain design assets, interface documentation, and user workflow references to support knowledge transfer, sustainment, and future enhancements.
