## About the Role

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field required., * 5+ years of systems engineering or administration experience.

 * Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments.
 * Experience with virtualization or cloud platforms such as VMware, AWS or Azure.
 * Scripting experience with shell, PowerShell or Python.
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 * Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
 * Continually required to use common office equipment including but not limited to computers, phones, scanners and printers.
Preferred Qualifications:

 * Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, RHCE or AWS/Azure certifications.
 * Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
 * Experience supporting federal government contracts.

## Description

Overview: Kreative Technologies is looking for a System Engineer to design, build and maintain the infrastructure our applications run on. You will keep servers, operating systems and environments secure, stable and well-documented.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, systematic and focused on uptime. You should be comfortable supporting multiple environments and working with developers and security staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:

 * Designs, installs and configures servers, operating systems and system software.
 * Maintains development, test and production environments.
 * Applies patches, updates and security hardening settings.
 * Monitors system performance and resolves infrastructure issues.
 * Automates system tasks and deployments with scripts and configuration tools.
 * Supports backup, recovery and disaster recovery planning.
 * Maintains system documentation and diagrams.
 * Performs other duties as assigned.
