Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of related experience; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience * Working knowledge of model-based systems engineering, operational analysis, and modeling & simulation * Prior experience/background in Joint Fires at a CCMD * Operational Planning experience * Demonstrated capability for strategic planning and ability to provide actionable plans to government sponsors. * Experience with and/or future interest in project and department leadership roles including project leader, task leader, and group leader * Active TS/SCI ## Description Roles & Responsibilities: PACOM Regional Operations Department (N554), within MITRE's Mission Driven Integration Center is seeking a candidate to serve as the Pacific Theater Fires Integration Outcome Lead. This is a Principal Engineering position supporting the synchronization of MITRE efforts to develop, modernize, and/or refine sponsor Operational processes for Theater and Global Fires coordination. This position will also serve as MITRE's primary interface to the USPACOM Integrated Joint Fires Center (IJFC). Successful candidates will have a strong background working with the Department of War coupled with demonstrable experience in one or more of the following technical and/or mission-focused competencies: 1) command & control (C2); 2) Joint / Service Fires; 3) System of System Engineering (M&S); 4) target development. Specific responsibilities include: * Build and manage sponsor, MITRE, and stakeholder relationships pertaining to Theater Fires. * Assess theater fires gaps; develop government and MITRE IR&D proposals to close gaps * Shape/create cohesive systems engineering development and campaign plan(s) for PACOM that demonstrates how operational capability is being incrementally demonstrated and matured. * Increase collaboration and coordination on Fires experimentation between the Function and Combatant Commands, Service Components, and allies and partners * Work with supporting functions (e.g. Intel) to develop DOTMLPF-P solutions to theater fires challenges * Collaborate with other government, FFRDC, and MITRE leads and organizations to identify and integrate new technology into theater architectures
