Professional Responsibilities The role will require the postholder to operate with a high degree of autonomy, providing expert advice to technical teams, service leads, and senior stakeholders. The ability to translate complex security risks into clear, actionable recommendations is essential. ## Description The Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for: 1. Leading operational cyber security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response across the digital estate. 2. Identifying, assessing, and mitigating cyber risks and vulnerabilities across infrastructure, cloud, applications, and endpoints. 3. Providing expert advice on cyber security controls, architecture, and best practises to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 4. Coordinating and managing cyber security incidents, ensuring timely containment, investigation, and recovery. 5. Supporting the implementation and optimisation of security tools, including SIEM, endpoint protection, identity security, and threat detection platforms. 6. Contributing to the development and enforcement of cyber security policies, standards, and procedures. 7. Ensuring compliance with NHS cyber standards, Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), and national cyber frameworks. 8. Undertaking vulnerability scanning, penetration testing coordination, and remediation tracking. 9. Supporting business continuity and disaster recovery planning from a cyber security perspective. 10. Contributing to cyber awareness, training, and organisational capability development.
