Experience with some of the following would be particularly useful: * Advanced SQL * ETL / ELT pipelines * Azure data technologies * Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric * Power BI, DAX and Power Query * Data modelling * API/system integrations * Cloud data platforms You don't need to have done absolutely everything on that list. We're particularly interested in people who understand data end-to-end, are naturally curious when something doesn't look right and want to continue developing their technical capability. ## Description You may already be a Data Engineer, or you could be a strong Senior BI Developer / Data Developer who has increasingly moved into the back end - working with SQL, integrations, data transformation and cloud technologies - and wants the opportunity to develop further into data engineering. The environment You'll be working within a modern, cloud-based data environment, with technologies including: * SQL Server / Azure SQL * Databricks * Microsoft Fabric * Power BI * ETL / ELT and data transformation * Cloud data platforms and integrations You'll work with data coming from multiple operational systems, helping move, transform and structure it so the wider business can rely on it. But this isn't simply about getting data from A to B. A major part of the role is making sure the output actually makes sense: reconciling information against source systems, spotting anomalies and understanding the business context behind the numbers. You'll be involved in * Building and maintaining automated data pipelines and integrations * Transforming data from multiple source systems * Developing clean, reusable datasets for reporting and analytics * Working with SQL databases and cloud data platforms * Supporting the development of structured data models and semantic layers * Improving data quality, monitoring and reliability * Working closely with Data Analysts to provide trusted datasets for Power BI reporting * Identifying inefficient or manual data processes and helping automate them * Documenting data flows, structures and processes as the environment develops
