## About the Role

8+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications in Java

\n

 - 5+ years of experience with Spring and Spring Boot

\n

 - Strong knowledge and practical experience of functional programming, threading/concurrency, collections, exception handling and core Java concepts

\n

 - Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices

\n

 - Experience developing and integrating distributed systems, including performance, security and error handling considerations

\n

 - Ability to create high-level and low-level designs and workflow diagrams, and to take part in architecture and design reviews

\n

 - Good understanding of SQL, relational data models and query optimisation

\n

 - Good knowledge of networking and communication protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS and TCP/IP

\n

 - Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git and build tools such as Maven

\n

 - Strong communication skills, and comfortable working directly with business users

\n

 - Ability to work with teams across different locations and time zones

\n

 - Interest in using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot or Claude in day-to-day development, Experience with messaging platforms such as ActiveMQ (AMQ) or Kafka

## Description

We are looking for a Lead Java Developer to join the team onsite in New York. This is a senior, hands-on role. You will spend most of your time writing code, while also reviewing designs and code, working with the technical leads and architects on new solutions, and mentoring junior developers and analysts.
