Desirable Experience - Exposure to PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems. - Experience within highly regulated industries such as: o Nuclear o Defence o Pharmaceutical - Knowledge of functional safety standards including IEC 61508. - Familiarity with Sellafield engineering standards and requirements. This role offers the chance to work on technically challenging projects from concept through to manufacture and installation, playing a key role in the design and development of control system hardware within a highly regulated environment. The Role As an EC&I Hardware Designer, you will be responsible for the design and development of electrical control systems, enclosures, control panels, and associated interface systems. Working alongside electrical, control, software, and mechanical engineers, you will contribute to the successful delivery of engineering solutions that meet demanding safety, quality, and performance standards. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop electrical enclosures, control panels, and interface systems. - Produce detailed AutoCAD drawings and engineering design packages. - Develop and maintain: o General Arrangements (GAs) o I/O Schedules o Cable calculations and routing schemes o Power load calculations o Heat dissipation calculations - Support engineering reviews and technical assessments. - Participate in site visits and project meetings. - Liaise with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are delivered accurately and efficiently. - Produce supporting documentation including: o Test specifications o Inspection reports o Installation method statements o Quality records - Support testing and verification of manufactured equipment against design requirements.
