The right person will be comfortable walking into an employee's office when their computer isn't working, troubleshooting why a printer won't connect, helping someone with Outlook, getting a new employee set up with the technology they need, diagnosing a network issue, and working with our outside technology partners when a problem goes beyond their expertise. You should be comfortable wearing a lot of hats and working on a wide variety of technology issues throughout the day. Most importantly, you should enjoy helping people and take pride in finding solutions. If you're the type of person who enjoys solving problems, helping others, and being the person everyone calls when "the computer isn't working," we'd like to talk with you. ## Description We are seeking a dependable, hands-on IT Support Specialist to join our team and serve as the go-to person for the company's day-to-day technology needs. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, helping people, and keeping technology running smoothly. You will provide in-house IT support for computers, software, phones, printers, network connectivity, user accounts, and other technology used throughout the organization. Think of this role as having the capabilities of a good outsourced IT service provider, but in-house. We are looking for someone who can handle the majority of everyday IT issues independently, troubleshoot problems, research solutions, and work with outside IT providers or technology vendors when an issue requires additional expertise. The ideal candidate is practical, responsive, organized, and enjoys being the person employees can come to when something isn't working. Duties * Provide day-to-day technical support to employees for computers, software, printers, phones, and other technology. * Troubleshoot Windows computers, hardware, operating systems, and software issues. * Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, monitors, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment. * Assist employees with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, and related services. * Troubleshoot network and internet connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and VPN connectivity. * Manage user accounts, passwords, permissions, and access to company systems. * Assist with Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration. * Install software, updates, and security patches as needed. * Support business software and applications, including Sage Software, Trimble Design & Modeling, HCCC Heavy Bid and Heavy Job, E360, and other company-specific software. * Work with outside IT vendors, software companies, and service providers when issues require additional support or expertise. * Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting network equipment, including switches, wireless equipment, routers, firewalls, and Meraki devices. * Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting Windows servers and other IT infrastructure. * Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including setting up and removing user accounts, computers, phones, and system access. * Maintain an accurate inventory of computers, devices, software, and other IT equipment. * Monitor and address routine IT and security issues to help keep company systems secure and reliable. * Document recurring problems, solutions, and IT procedures. * Respond to employee IT requests in a timely and professional manner. * Educate employees on basic technology, cybersecurity, and best practices. * Identify opportunities to improve the company's technology and make recommendations when appropriate. * Take ownership of IT problems through resolution and follow up with employees to ensure issues have been properly resolved. * Perform other IT-related duties as needed.
