## About the Role

Willing to go on-call once up to speed - Currently 1 in 6 weeks
Any programming language experience; particularly but not exclusively Python
Previous experience as a software engineer on a product-orientated team
Nice to haves
Experience evangelising platform engineering practices and principles
An understanding of what force multiplication looks like, for a DevOps/Platform team
Experience building reusable, consumable, Infrastructure-as-Code and CI jobs

## Description

This Spine Core Team has the ongoing responsibility for hosting, maintaining and supporting the critical Spine Core messaging platform and infrastructure. We own and run several of our own services on the platform such as the National Event Management Service (NEMS) and Spine Secure Proxy (SSP) as well as supporting other teams to deliver and run their own critical services using the Spine platform. As part of this we also uphold the quality of all code written within the platform, managing and monitoring overall CI and code quality gates, and making sure deployments meet appropriate standards.
