You will oversee the design, optimisation, and development of our Epic Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system and other digital solutions. This pivotal role will see you leading a team of dedicated digital system analysts and specialists to ensure our digital systems meet the dynamic needs of clinicians, administrators, and patients. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest & experience in digital healthcare and problem solving. Equally as important to these skills will be your understanding of clinical and administration workflows and processes within an acute Trust. This is a wide-ranging, key strategic role that draws on project management skills, collaboration, stakeholder management and EPR/digital systems knowledge., * Master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (e.g., IT, Health Informatics, Data Science, or related field). * Certified in Epic / EPR application management, with current certification and revalidation through mandatory annual training and exams., * Evidence of formal project management training, e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent., * oExtensive experience working in a healthcare informatics environment, specifically with Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems like Epic. * oProven track record of leading system design, optimisation, and implementation in a clinical or operational healthcare setting. * oExperience managing multidisciplinary teams, including direct line management of analysts and senior analysts. * oExperience in the development, design and use of an enterprise wide EPR. * oProven experience of leading digital programmes or system optimisation delivering measurable benefits., * oExperience collaborating with NHS England, ICSs, and other national bodies to implement system changes aligned with policy requirements. * oExperience of budget management, resource allocation, and justifying system upgrades or training investments. * oExperience of working with very senior managers, clinicians and board members. * oPrevious NHS experience, * oUnderstanding of NHS policy, standards, governance requirements and regulatory frameworks relevant to digital services. * oUnderstanding of digital systems and EPR environments and how they support clinical and operational services Knowledge of NHS clinical, professional, and operational standards. * oKnowledge of the Epic EPR system, * oAwareness of NHS cost improvement plans and how EPR systems can support these through optimisation., * oStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret highly complex data to inform system design and decision-making. * oStrong leadership and people management skills, including team development and performance management. * oAbility to handle sensitive and contentious issues, managing resistance to change effectively. * oWell-developed communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to address groups or individuals including senior managers, * oProven ability to identify opportunities for innovation and drive service transformation through new technologies or workflows., * oThe ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent. ## Description The Digital Systems Manager leads a team of analysts to support, design and optimise the Trust's Epic Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and associated systems. The post holder provides expert advice on system design, clinical and administrative workflows, NHS data standards and reporting requirements. They ensure systems are safe, integrated, reliable and aligned with operational needs and national standards. Working with clinical, operational and digital colleagues, the role delivers system enhancements, upgrades, user support and measurable service improvements. The post holder maintains design integrity, manages delegated resources and develops a high-performing team focused on patient safety, innovation and continuous improvement. Role dimensions Leadership and line management of EPR analysts and specialists. Accountability for EPR configuration, design integrity, optimisation and associated systems. Compliance with NHS data, reporting, information governance and patient safety standards.
