We are looking for a creative Flight Software Engineer to join an exciting and dynamic team in designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting complex flight control software for missile systems., * Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college in computer science, software engineering, electrical/computer engineering or similar with at least 7 yrs experience

 * Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, software development integration and/or testing

 * Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

 * Experience with the full software development cycle

 * Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral

## Description

For this role, you will be joining the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Avionics organization committed to developing Flight and Test Shipboard software for the missile system. They will join a team of Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) and Software engineers that designs and develops mission critical subsystems for the FBM program. The duties for the position will incorporate all phases of the software development life cycle -- requirements, design, code, test, and maintenance.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

As a Software Engineer for the FBM D5 Life Extension 2 Shipboard Tactical Avionics Team, you will:

 * Develop, Build and Test flight and ground software in C, C++

 * Create software requirements and ensure documentation and code output fulfills those requirements

 * Review software data from production tests and assist with troubleshooting (Python, MATLAB, C)

 * Integrate with project management and systems engineering

 * Provide technical leadership in software and computer engineering

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
