## About the Role

* BS degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related discipline.
 * Minimum of six (6) years experience analyzing data processing problems and user requirements to implement and improve computer systems;application software development and sustainment experience, including full development life cycle, user interface design, database integration, and multi-environment troubleshooting.
 * Experience recommending commercially available software solutions and improving existing systems.
 * Skilled in Java, Java Applets, web programming, web user interface design, software requirements, software development process, Object-Oriented Design (OOD), multimedia content development, and software debugging; proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office suite, and SharePoint
 * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 * Relevant software development, Java, or cloud certifications preferred

## Description

* Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to implement and improve computer systems.
 * Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems, and review system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
 * Create user information solutions and develop, implement, and maintain application components and interfaces.
 * Define objectives by analyzing user requirements and envisioning system features and functionality.
 * Design and develop user interfaces for internet/intranet applications, determining design methodologies and tool sets and conducting tests.
 * Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development versus commercially available software.
 * Integrate applications by designing database architecture and server scripting and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.
 * Troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms, and support users through documentation and assistance tools.
