Duties include providing specifications for network architecture design, evaluate and perform assessments of current infrastructure to ensure solution meets customer requirements, conduct proof of concepts and/or recommend hardware/software purchases in support of new technologies on ways to improve the environment.\n \n \nNetwork Project Engineer primary responsibilities:\n \n \n * Conduct Site Survey's when needed.\n * Serve as the Lead Network Engineer on assigned projects.\n * Develop detailed network designs and architectures that align with Department of Defense (DoD) standards.\n * Work closely with system engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. \n * Stay updated on DoD policies and best practices related to network security and design. \n * Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, installations, and changes. \n * Oversee the installation and configuration of network equipment, including routers, switches, taclanes and firewalls. \n * Design full scale network solutions to include but not limited to switches, routers, taclanes, F5 Load Balancers, IP Management, VPNs, DHCP, Firewalls etc.\n * Utilize Visio to create, maintain and/or modify diagrams in support of assigned projects i.e., block, wiring, workflow, database, application diagrams etc.\n * Ensure compliance with applicable network security protocols, including 802.1x, DOD STIGs, SRGs and other accreditation standards.\n * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network infrastructure with broader IT and cybersecurity systems.\n * Conduct thorough testing of network systems to ensure functionality, performance, and security compliance. \n * Work closely with system engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. \n * Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, installations, and changes. \n * Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during installation and testing phases.\n * Collaborate with procurement teams to identify and source network hardware and software that meet project specifications.\n
