## About the Role

* Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technical discipline or closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
 * Software development experience and proficiency in C++, Linux, and Python
 * Excellent communication skills
 * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
 * Prior experience with satellite ground systems design, development, integration, or test
 * Experience with enterprise Ground Product Line (GPL) products Horizon, Compass, or Hades
 * Experience working in an Agile development or I&T environment, including tools such as Jira and Confluence
 * A active Secret clearance is required prior to start. (Must be a US citizen)

Desired Skills

 * Experience supporting technical performance objectives, deliverables and customer-facing reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR)
 * Experience in requirements definition to derive, decompose and verify requirements
 * Familiar with Interface Control Document (ICD) definitions
 * Strong knowledge of modern technology frameworks, IP networking, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, APIs, DevSecOps, and data architecture

## Description

The selected candidate will support the Ground segment of the program as a Sr Staff Software Engineer for the software lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, code & unit test, integration, and support to formal test/delivery. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment with frequent and direct interaction with various engineering disciplines and customers. Prior experience as a Software engineer with extensive domain knowledge of ground systems, networks, and integration & test of enterprise software products is required., Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
