## About the Role

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (equivalent work experience may be considered).
 * 0-8 years related design experience required (plastics and/or sheet metal preferred).
 * Experience designing and bringing new products into mass production.
 * Abilities Required
 * Proficiency designing in 3D CAD Software (preferably SolidWorks and/or Creo).
 * GD&T, FMEA and the ability to perform dimensional tolerance stack ups.
 * Familiar with design benefits / constraints in multiple manufacturing methods. (ie: CNC, brake press, machining, injection molding, welding, etc.)
 * Application of engineering principles to ensure product performance.
 * Experience managing customer and vendor relationships.
 * Demonstrated ability to implement change in a way that positively impacts overall department and company performance.
 * Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage priorities.
 * Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 * Must excel at working in a team environment with a high level of people/interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to cross functionally drive results.

## Description

Responsible for the design of parts, accessories and cab systems, from concept to production, that meet (or exceed) product specifications and goals for performance, budget and time., * Works within all digital tools (CAD, File Management and ERP System) to create successful design solutions.

 * Recommends ideal component manufacturing direction to achieve overall design, performance, and cost goals.
 * Analyzes existing and new designs to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
 * Accountable to the PDP (Product Development Process) and ownership of engineering tasks within.
 * Prepares preliminary and production sketches, prints and/or schematic diagrams and/or presentations to aid in the understanding and solution of engineering problems.
 * Actively solicits design feedback from customers, other designers, sales, suppliers, quality engineers, continuous improvement engineers and manufacturing engineers.
 * Analyzes field and production problems and recommends possible solutions.
 * Performs other miscellaneous project related assignments.
