## About the Role

* Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance.
 * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
 * Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience within the past eight (8) years in system administration, network administration, or related IT operations.
 * Experience administering Windows and/or Unix operating systems and network environments.
 * Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols and information security principles.
 * Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers.
 * Experience supporting desktop and laptop computers, printers, and associated hardware and software.
 * Knowledge of system monitoring, event logs, server backups, and recovery procedures.
 * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
 * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-focused environment.

## Description

Defense Acquisition Support Services (DAS) is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to support mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) operations at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows and/or Unix system administration, server management, network operations, and information security., This position requires a detail-oriented IT professional capable of maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing computer systems and network infrastructure while ensuring system reliability, security, and operational efficiency., * Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and/or Unix servers, operating systems, and network infrastructure.

 * Perform system administration, maintenance, upgrades, and technical support to ensure optimal system performance and availability.
 * Monitor system configurations, server event logs, and network performance to identify and resolve technical issues.
 * Provide hardware and software support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
 * Configure hardware devices, install and test software applications, and support network infrastructure requirements.
 * Perform functional and technical analysis of software systems to identify performance issues and recommend improvements.
 * Apply knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols, information security, and system authorization requirements.
 * Test and evaluate operating systems, networking software, and computer hardware to ensure functionality and compatibility.
 * Develop, implement, and monitor server backup procedures to support data protection and system recovery.
 * Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime and maintain mission readiness.
 * Maintain accurate system documentation, configuration records, and standard operating procedures.
